Deeper into the Yosemite winter wilderness

The Guided Overnight Trip - Two Nights / Three Days extends the overnight experience. Three days, two nights of camp, longer ski tours, and access to terrain that's only reachable when you can spend the time. For people who've already done a 1-night trip or have winter camping experience, this is the natural next objective.

Day-by-day rhythm

Day 1: Ski-in to camp; set up; afternoon orientation tour.

Day 2: The big day. With camp established and gear sorted, the group can take a longer ski tour from camp without daily camp-strike overhead. Often this is the day with the most spectacular skiing.

Day 3: Final morning tour from camp; break camp; ski out to Badger Pass.

What's included

  • Three days of certified guide
  • Group gear (tents, stove, cooking equipment)
  • Permits and route planning
  • Avalanche safety equipment

Not included: personal gear, food, and ski touring setup. Camping gear is rentable from the Mountaineering School.

Who should book this

People who already know they like winter camping (from a 1-night trip, or other winter camping experience) and want a real expedition. The longer trip lets the guide select more interesting terrain and lets you do real backcountry skiing rather than racing daylight to and from camp each day.
