One instructor, your goals, your pace

Private lessons are the best value in ski instruction when you have specific things you want to work on — a turn shape that won't click, a fear to overcome on steeper terrain, a partner or child you want to learn alongside, or simply a faster progression than any group lesson can deliver.

Who books private lessons

  • Couples or friends who want to learn together at their own pace (one private lesson can include 2-3 people of similar level)
  • Returning skiers who don't fit the beginner mold but want a refresher and a tune-up
  • Intermediates with specific goals — "I want to ski blacks comfortably," "I want to learn moguls," "I want to fix this thing my left ski does in turns"
  • Parents who want to ski with their kids rather than drop them in group lessons
  • Kids with special needs or anxiety around groups

How privates compare to group lessons economically

If you have two people booking together (a couple, a parent + child, two friends), a private lesson per person often costs less than two group lessons — and you get an instructor's undivided attention. The math is even better for three people.

Solo skiers — privates cost more, but the progression is usually 2-3x faster. If you have limited time at Badger Pass and want to maximize what you walk away with, a private session is often the right call.

Important note on what's included

Private lessons do not include lift tickets or equipment rental. Book those separately: All Day Lift Ticket and Ski/Snowboard Rental. (If you want everything bundled, the Master the Slopes or Next Step packages already include lift + rental.)
