The standard rental package
The All Day Ski & Snowboard Equipment Rental is the workhorse — skis or snowboard, boots, poles (if skiing), available from lodge opening through 4 PM. Modern, well-maintained gear suitable for any skill level from first-timer to advanced.
What's included
- Skis or snowboard — pick at booking; both options available in adult and junior sizes
- Boots — sized at the shop; size up or down on the spot if needed
- Poles (skis only)
- Tuning and waxing — gear is shop-prepped and ready to ride
Not included: helmet (available as add-on), lift ticket, lessons. Buy those separately or bundle everything in Master the Slopes (beginners) or Next Step (intermediates).
Pickup logistics
Arrive at the base lodge rental shop. You'll fill out a quick liability form, get sized for boots, get fitted to skis or a snowboard, and walk out with your gear. The whole process takes 15-30 minutes depending on volume — faster with a pre-booked rental, slower if you walk in on a busy morning.
Tip: leave 45 minutes between rental pickup and your first chair ride if it's a weekend or holiday. The line for boots can be the slowest part.
Helmet recommendation
The Badger Pass terrain is forgiving, but helmets prevent the kinds of injuries that turn an OK day into a hospital visit. Helmets are not included in the base rental but cost very little to add on at the shop. Wear one. Make your kids wear one.
